Request for Urgent Repair: Unsafe Pavement

Reported via desktop in the Potholes and paving damage category anonymously at 20:50, Monday 16 September 2024

Sent to Thamesmead less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6479069.

I am writing to bring to your attention a significant issue concerning the pavement in front of my property at 74 Parkway. The section of the pavement in front of my gate has become hazardous due to cracks caused by tree roots and uneven slabs. These cracks and uneven surfaces present a serious tripping hazard for pedestrians, and I am particularly concerned for the safety of elderly individuals and children who frequently pass by. Additionally, during rain, the uneven pavement causes water to pool and flow into my yard, which is damaging and poses further inconvenience.

I kindly request that the council take prompt action to:

1. Assess the extent of damage caused by tree roots and uneven slabs.

2. Repair or replace the damaged pavement.

3. Investigate and implement drainage solutions to prevent water from entering my yard. Please acknowledge receipt of this complaint and inform me of the timeline for the repairs. I would appreciate it if the matter could be treated with urgency before someone is injured or further damage occurs. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.
